Painting Tips for Beginners
Painting can be a daunting task, especially without the hours of practice a skilled artist would have. But here are three new painting tips from someone who has been painting for years. Always start with a wet canvas, make sure to use white paint for mixing, and choose your paintbrush wisely. Hopefully, you can create your next masterpiece with these new tips.
New Sunset “Dusk” and “Dawn” Painting Products
Whether you need a new tee shirt or a journal, there’s a colorful sunset design waiting just for you! On the “Dusk” products, stars scatter the night sky as the light from the sun fades from pale yellow to soft pink. A sunset of pale yellow fading soft pink at the bottom, blending into a deep periwinkle and navy night sky above. On the “Dawn” products, night turns to day and the darkness in the sky is consumed by the brilliant shades of the fiery sun. Bright orange skies melt from peach to mauve then into an intense violet.
Two New Original Acrylic Paintings
The “Dusk” and “Dawn” original acrylic paintings encapsulate the best parts of sunrise and sunset. Vivid colors of a changing sky, whimsical clouds, and a forest line to top it all off. This 5 x 7 stretched canvas duo is perfect for those sunset lovers trying to decorate their place!
Dawn
The sky is ablaze with fiery tendrils reaching for every cloud, a stormy night long gone as the sun begins to shine. Travelers hiding in the woods wake to beams of cascading light poking through the thick canopy of trees. Those early birds bask in the beautiful show of colors as the sun brings color back to the world.
Dusk
Heavy clouds cover the sky warning of a stormy night. The dense forest with bright blue trees offers refuge, drawing in weary travelers as the day turns to night. A bright waxing moon lights the way as the setting sun changes the color of the sky before their eyes.
Staying Creative as a New Mom
I decided it was time to get out of the newborn phase and get into a new routine of nourishing my interests as well as caring for my son. I quickly realized that creating was never going to be the same as before.
Little Stream
This piece is bursting with greenery from the meandering stream at the base of the mountain. Mixing these green hues was an entertaining practice that added dimension to the cascading mountain top.
Bright Star
For the second winter scene I wanted to create a deeper color pallet. I took a slightly different approach to make the mountain in this piece because the center of the mountain has a line leading down whereas other designs leave an empty space.
Thankful Trees
This was the second piece I made in this collection before I realized I was making a collection, hence the slightly different painting technique using wider brushstrokes. While painting I was playing around with the way two shades interact together and then against white paper.
Bunnies
The bunnies are out and hopping in this piece featuring a bright green meadow just below the mountain. To create the meadow I followed the same technique from the river painting, individually drawing each blade of grass.
