Little Moon Original Acrylic Painting

Description

This original acrylic painting on a 12 x 12 stretched canvas displays a little moon standing beside the mountain reduced to lavender streaks just below the extravagant upturned sky. The multicolored sky sweeps up in curving circular lines, deep blue turns into lavender then a light sky blue on the horizon.

Inspiration for this piece came from my favorite part of nature, colorful sunsets and sunrises. The colors of a vibrant sunset always seem to mesmerize me and often influence my painting sessions but this one was hijacked by a sense of whimsy when I got to the foreground. The mountain quickly took this piece into another world when I decided to let the paintbrush sweep down mixing the white and purple shades.

You can hang it on your wall or add it to your bedside table as a nice reminder of the natural beauty around us!
